Detailed Job Description:

A Dog Daycare Counselor is responsible for the daily supervision, care, and safety of dogs at the daycare facility. This role involves monitoring playgroups, ensuring dogs are properly socialized, preventing conflicts, and providing a clean, healthy environment. Dog Handlers must be attentive, proactive, and knowledgeable about dog behavior and body language. Duties also include feeding, administering medications as directed, cleaning play areas, and engaging in structured activities like playtime, basic obedience training, and enrichment exercises.

Responsibilities:

• Walk dogs in clients neighborhood

• Pick up dogs meet other team members at a local trail for an adventure walk with the dogs then drop off the dogs at their home.

• Provide exceptional pet care and handling for dogs, ensuring their safety and comfort.

• Engage in dog training and behavioral management to promote positive interactions.

• Drive to clients homes to walk dogs and/or pick up dogs for adventures

• Provide daily positive pet updates with photos

• Work with other team members to provide a fun and safe play environment for dogs in our careProvide enrichment activities to dogs in our care

• Complete daily cleaning tasks in a timely manner

• Prioritize dog and human safety while caring for dogs in our care

• Perform routine kennel maintenance, including heavy lifting as required.

• Be physically fit and able to work and commute in all types of weather (this is a VERY active position that requires hours of energy, even on rainy, snowy or humid and hot days.)

• Have access to a reliable vehicle and have a valid driver’s license.

• Have experience with, a love of and a desire to work with dogs and/or cats and other small animals.

• Love people in addition to animals (this is just as much a customer service position as it is a pet care position.)

• Be 100% reliable.

• Be organized and detail oriented.

• Be able to provide professional references.
